Pindar is a random person given the power to control vast sums accumulated by IC.  He is Pindar for life.  Here's the rub - he isn't told he's Pindar.  Most never know, even until the day they die.  Wealth is managed by faceless managers whose job is to maintain course unless directed otherwise.  Should they fail to do as Pindar directs however, the penalty is death and they are replaced with someone who will follow that and subsequent order(s).  Those orders are currently given by any survey-able (meaning IC has the capability to surveil) communication method, including internet, phone, etc..  If IC can see it, they must pass it on to the relevant manager(s) and the orders must be carried out, regardless how anyone in the chain feels about it.  Violations of this protocol are punished by death.  Pindar is thus protected and his name one of the most protected secrets there are.  Not one has ever died by other than natural causes.
