Check out Braindead! It's a tv show about ET insects infecting/eating the brains of politicians in order to fulfill an agenda!!
It's a great show and in the first episode you actually get to see a guy get attacked by what seems to be a fast vrill. They're recording and trying to discover what came out of a crate that broke and then something charges the guy and he screams....
A few days later his wife is reporting his behaviour is totally different.
Crazy show. Clearly whoever wrote it and directs it knows about vrill.

Has musicians making music. This is not a strong 'in your face' cloning center reference but when you watch the commercial the throne scene at the end made me think of Donald Marshall.
At 13 second mark, you will see main musician sitting on a throne that reminds me of Donald Marshall on throne except that his leg is not thrown over the armrest..
A few years ago I was told about and remember seeing Charles Foster Offdenson (CFO) from the Dethklok cartoon sitting in his Star Trek captain's chair. CFO was known as the 'Deadman' because he was killed and brought back to life. A fan remade the screenshot where CFO was sitting like Don Marshall with his leg over the armrest. I can not find that photo anymore.
