The timber burial chamber was uncovered from within a 12-metre mound, known as a kurgan, in eastern Georgia near the municipality of Lagodekhi. ‘Kurgan’ is the Russian word for tumulus, a type of burial mound or barrow, heaped over a burial chamber. Kurgan barrows were characteristic of Bronze Age peoples, from the Altay Mountains to the Caucasus, Ukraine, Romania, and Bulgaria. They are complex structures with internal chambers. Within the burial chamber at the heart of the kurgan, elite individuals were buried with grave goods and sacrificial offerings, sometimes including horses and chariots. Kurgans were used in the Ukrainian and Russian Steppes but spread into eastern, central, and northern Europe in the 3rd millennium BC. Within the burial chamber, the team discovered two chariots, each with four wooden wheels and fine ornamental details of various styles, flint and obsidian arrowheads, leather and textile artifacts, ornamented clay and wooden vessels, a unique wooden armchair, carnelian and amber beads, 23 golden artifacts, including rare and artistic crafted jewellery, wild fruits, and the remains of seven people. “One of them was a chief and others should be the members of his family, sacrificed slaves or servants,” said Zurab Makharadze, head of the Centre of Archaeology at the Georgian National Museum. The burial dates back to the Early Bronze Age, a time before domesticated horses appeared in the area, so it is believed the chariots were pulled by oxen. The armchair symbolizes the power that individuals like the chief had. “The purpose of the wooden armchair was the indication to power, and it was put in the kurgan as a symbol of power,” said Makharadze. MYSTERIOUS PAINTING recently I visited 'pachmarhi' which is a hill station in madhyapradhesh state, India . it is one of the oldest cites use by human, having many caves and many fountain. specially many caves are the temple of " LORD SHIVA" but one thing i found their is one painting on a cave wall its very rare painting , rare because u find mysterious thing in that painting , now look at the picture in 1st circle u find a human like animal but his face is just a skeleton . in his hand in the second circle u find a human. and in bottom u find a chicken like bird, but the thing that confuse me is the snake like thing which is in circle 3 . in first seeing i found that its just a simple painting but later when i see it in deep i found it have different meaning. what u say .........
