Hippie Lovegods claims of immortality (in the same body anyway) are ahem...unproven...when humans are faced with death or old age they will leap at the chance to extend their lives (the life that they know and think is reality) this is a natural response. One can still be "killed" of course...whatever that really means (appears "gone" to everyone else in this particular reality)....we are generally programmed to avoid death . I have to agree with the cylons here (battlestar galactica reference) this has all happened before and will happen again....a little different each time perhaps...but from the Macro view pretty much the same ~!~

Eric Pete What we call the 'soul' or 'spirit' is entangled and embedded with the physical. The physical folds and creases in ones brain is etherically and cosmically interwoven with the soul. You cant have one, without the other. It is literally impossible to 'detach' a persons 'soul'. from their body. One needs the other, as does the other need the one. Sure, they are getting close at micro-chipping a persons brain, and uploading the brain information to another microchip. But the heart is much older and wiser than the brain. That could never be down/uploaded to anything artificial. For the heart exists on the plane of love and empathy, the plane of existence that science will never be able to 'reproduce'.
